The client is a major office furniture exporter in Poland, supplying European IKEA and other large retailers. EU markets impose strict furniture VOCs limits requiring REACH and GREENGUARD certification compliance. Their existing solvent-based coating line could not meet these standards.
The Challenge
Water-based coatings demand strict environmental control (20-25 °C, 60-70% RH), with long flash-off times and curing processes completely different from solvent-based — making this a green-field engineering challenge.

MUSI delivered a complete water-based paint coating solution: climate-controlled paint mixing room → electrostatic liquid spray → 8-min flash-off → 60 °C pre-bake → 140 °C cure. VOCs emissions reduced 78% versus the previous line.
