Step 1: Define Product Positioning. Three key questions: What workpieces will I coat? Where will the products be used? What are customer requirements for the coating? Workpiece dimensions, weight, material, shape, and surface state determine line capacity and conveyor type. Product positioning determines coating method and film thickness. Customer requirements drive specific compliance standards.
Step 2: Plan Capacity Reasonably. Consider three layers: current capacity (today), near-term (1-3 year growth target), long-term (5-10 year vision). MUSI recommends configuring at 'near-term × 1.5' to leave growth headroom. Modular approach is also worth considering — start small, expand later as market grows.
Step 3: Evaluate Facility Conditions.
